The first time I had a Cuban cigar was in Munich last year when I was there covering the hi-fi show. Even though Andrew kept asking/telling us, “Why don’t you just get Cubans?”, it took a trip overseas to see the light.
I tried a bunch in Germany. Then on vacation in St. Kitts I tried some more.
Partagas, Bolivar, Romeo Y Julieta, Cohiba, the Montecristo #2, and more. So far my favorite is the Montecristo Petit Edmundo for all around smoking pleasure but there hasn’t been a bad stick in the lot. I think I get what all the fuss is about Cuban cigars. Its the experience of smoking one.
Its also going to be tough to beat that first Cohiba enjoyed at a beer garden with friends in Munich directly after seeing this in the flesh:
